I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I can't seem to have my pictures and the rest of my blog line up right. The way I have it laid out in edit isn't how looks when it posts. Grr! Help me!

Engagement BBQ

Blake, Scotty, Melissa, and Blaine

Glenn and Julie

Julie and I got together and threw an engagement BBQ for our friend Scotty. At first I thought it was going to be a bust. We got to the park we wanted to have it at and there was a birthday party going on. Grrr! There is never anyone doing anything at this park....which is why I suggested it. Just as Julie was leaving she noticed a couple of picnic tables at the other end of the park. They weren't under a cover, but a couple of us got our camping canopies and it worked out just fine. We had hamburgers and hotdogs, pasta salad and potato salad, chips and Julie make a cake and brownies. Good food, great friends, and a beautiful was lovely.

Madison, Amy, Daniel and Lachlan

After the BBQ Amy and Daniel came over to visit. We ended up throwing some ribs on the grill and sitting around bs-ing until after 1am. Aahhh...good times.

She lost it!

Hannah finally lost her first tooth! Wahoo!! It has been loose for what seems like forever, but it finally fell out while she was eating dinner. I think it freaked her out at first, because it was bleeding a little bit, but then she was so excited. I think she looked at the tooth a couple dozen times before she went to bed. Haha...oh my baby is growing up.

Beach Weekend

Emerald Isle Beach

Well, we are back from the beach. We had so much fun...this blog might be a little long, sorry :-)

We left about 3am to head to Havelock, NC. We had a car full, thank goodness for the 3rd row seats. The drive was uneventful. We stopped a couple of times, but considering that we had 3 adults, a 6yr old, 2 1/2 yr old, and a 1 1/2 yr old traveling with us, we made good time. We met Tina at the gate (they live on base) and all was good, but when we pulled into their driveway our car started making a funny sound. Well after checking things out, our brakes were shot. Its a wonder we made it safely. So, we replaced the brake pads and sat to visit. Bethy and her husband and baby came over and had dinner with us. Then we played rock band for hours. Too funny...too much fun :D

Tina had to work again (bummer), so after she went to work we all headed to the Atlantic Beach. It was so nice. Acacia cracked me up, she would not touch the sand. I finally got her to play in the sand about a half an hour before we left. She was so silly. After hours of playing we went back to Tina's and had dinner and played some games.

Tina and Bethy got to go to the beach with us. We went to Emerald Isle Beach. It was beautiful. There was only a few people there...and nobody too close. We had so much fun. Josh and I got Margaret to come out and play in the waves with us. Way fun! Acacia actually even played in the sand most of the time. She was so cute. We headed back to Tina's for some taco's and games.

We were so worn out we ended up sleeping in a little. Then we had to get our stuff together to go home. Tina had to go back to work and we didn't end up leaving until almost 4pm. We would have made good time coming home, but we hit some major rain. We finally got home about 11pm. *sigh* We had a blast, but we were so tired (and sunburned).
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Weekend.

Too Funny

As I drove into the Wal Mart parking lot I passed a car with this bumper sticker...I thought it was so funny I took a picture of it with my phone (yes I walked up to the strangers car and took a picture). I just thought I'd share it with everyone...hope it brings a smile to your face

Curse you sun!

We are going to the beach for four days this weekend. Josh's sister lives in Cherry Point and we are going to visit her and her family. I hate going on vacation with things to do at home, so we are trying to make sure the house is clean...grass mowed...etc. Josh knows that I don't get much time to myself so he let me mow (I like to listen to my mp3 player and just enjoy being outside, by myself). Well I am retarded and didn't think about the sun...I am a lobster. I never burn! I spent all summer outside and went the beach twice last year and didn't burn. Oh, but today, two days before we go on a six hour drive to spend four days at the beach...I am now a crispy lobster. So I say... Curse you sun!

Here are some of my pretty roses from my mother's day rose bush (from my second mother's day).
I just finished reading The Wedding, by Nicholas Sparks *sigh* it was so sweet. I was worried, after reading The Notebook that it would be really sad, but it was really lovely. I have been trying to get my mind off of the Twilight books (its harder than you think, fellow Twilight-aholics). I have also read The Rescue, by Nicholas Sparks and The Memory Keeper's Daughter, by Kim Edward over the last couple of weeks. As much as I like Nicholas Sparks, I think I am going to try another author for my next read.
Have a good night everyone in blogger land. :-)

Acacia told me "Wub eww", haha which translates to love you. It was super cute. She has said it my sister but never to anyone else. She will say it when you ask her to - sometimes, but never on her own. She climbed up in my lap and was loving on me so I kind of whispered "I love you" in her ear and she turned to me and said "wub eww", so naturally I smiled and she said it again and gave me a kiss. Its days like these that make every late night, stuffy nose, tantrum in the store, worried mom moment worth it.
Hannah got another award from school today. I swear, she cracks me up with all of these awards. Oh, I guess I'm just having a mushy mom day. :-)

Count yourselves lucky

First of all Happy Birthday to one of my best friends Amy T. Hope your day is great (or at least better).

Next, I was talking to my friend Amy...going to wine about my weekend water situation...and found out that they haven't had water for a week. A week! Oh, man a week without water...with kids in the house. No fun. Here's hoping it gets fixed quick and inexpensively.

Crazy weekend

Oh man...this weekend was going to be busy anyways, but things went really crazy. Saturday we went to the birthday party for our friends little boy. It was at the bowling alley and we all ended up having a really good time. After that we stopped at the store to get some last minute ingredients for the cake I was baking for a church lunch on Sunday. We got home and I realized that I had forgot something at the store...grrr. So, I head back to town and Josh calls me...our water won't work. Hmm, great. So we call a friend and he comes over to see whats up. After pulling up the pump (which is not too much fun) we find out the pump is shot. Awesome : (

So two days and a few hundred dollars later we have water again. Thank goodness for great, wonderful, talented friends.

Needless to say we ended up missing Matts graduation, church and the church lunch. Ah, such is life.

On a side note...Josh and I went to see Angels and Demons...good movie.

Here's a video of my sweet girls dancing. :-)

Just thinking

*sigh* just to get it out in the wonderful world of blogs...I struggle with postpartum. Sometimes I get in these moods, you know - wish I had more money, more time, pretty much more of everything I don't have. Not a big deal. I get over it. Last week I was cleaning up to get ready for my little party over the weekend (which went super great) and started thinking. Hannah was at school, Acacia was taking a nap, Josh was doing yard work and I was sweeping the front walk. As I was sweeping I started thinking...I really am blessed. I have the best behaved, most beautiful, lovable children in the world (okay so I might be a little bias). I have wonderful friends that I could never live without. I have a house that I love, with a yard that I love. My family (although most are far away) are the best and very supportive. Now, above all my husband... Not only is he my best friend, confidant, and the most loving father ever... he is the best husband. He helps clean, he is going to school and working full time, and is just a all-around great guy. I just love him so much. I can't imagine my life without him.

Okay, now he is home and I have missed him all bye bye :-)

O' Happy Day

I just wanted to wish every mom out there a Happy Mother's Day. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Ok, so.... Josh worked out in the yard for hours today (the first day is hasn't rain -yet, in almost 2 weeks) and I cleaned and organized the house for hours. I am having a get-together Saturday and I want the house spotless. It is such a pain...between the muddy dogs, the cats, the kids and is so hard to keep the house clean. I guess I will shampoo the living room tomorrow night to try to get up some of the mud from the dogs. Grrr... the dogs...they dug out again today and came home covered in who-knows-what. I'm just glad I hadn't cleaned their beds yet. I've done all I am going to do except keep laundry going. In a little bit I am going to put the girls to bed and watch Greys Anatomy. *sigh*

Josh got to come home early from work today (I am so glad, I was feeling a little blue) and we finished our garden. Well, we still have to buy the tomato and strawberry plants...but we will probably do that next weekend. I am so excited to have fresh veggies. Now to get dinner ready and watch a movie. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Hannah picked out some sunflower seeds to plant. She was super excited. :-)
