Yesterday I drove the kids around looking at Christmas lights. We were having a good time looking at some beautiful lights. We even saw some deer (real deer), the kids were just as excited about the deer as they were the lights. Christmas music playing, children singing and Hannah turns to me and says that she got to see her friend Danielle today. Now Hannah and Danielle have been friends since preschool. In fact, this year is the first year they haven't been in the same class.
Anyways, she said that Danielle looked sad and when she talked to her she found out Danielle's mom died this week. Shock! I just started crying. My heart hurts for this family. I am also sad because I have known Andrea for years now. Now this 7 year old little girl is going to grow up without her mom. *sad sigh*
I will be praying for this family.
Hug your family...enjoy never know what will happen tomorrow.

Having a moment

I am tired. Emotionally, physically and mentally. I don't know if its the busy-ness of the season or what, but I am so tired of people's crap.  Sometimes it surprises me...peoples priorities, that is. Most of the time I can just brush it off. You know, just say "oh that's just how they are" or "to each their own".  But for some reason I just want to tell some people to shut up. I know, I know... sorry

On a brighter note...I posted pictures of my beautiful children because they are what get me through the day. Don't get me wrong, my hubby is wonderful and I don't know what I would do without him...but there is something about a smiling, laughing, beautiful child to make you remember how great your life is.

So, deep breath out...
Let's think good thoughts and forget people that want you to be as unhappy as they are.

Acacia looking at the snow and Hannah standing with the snowmen we made.

I have been so busy lately.
~finished Christmas shopping
~Christmas get together with Tunks family
~Christmas get together with Tupper family
~visit a friend we haven't got to see in a while
~dinner with inlaws
All of this on top of working a six day week, wrapping presents, cleaning house and all of the rest of the daily grind.

We did manage to take some time to play in the snow with the girls (I don't think Liam would like it much haha). Hannah and I built snowmen. Acacia helped by throwing snowballs at us LOL.

We still have so much to do by/before/on Christmas. Oh well. Tis the season I guess.

Tis the season

Well, here we are again. December. I have such a love/hate relationship with the holidays.

Buying stuff for people
Spending time with people I love
Good food
Watching my kids Christmas morning
Finding the perfect gift for someone

People expecting my kids to run up to them when they hardly know them
Having to try to make SO many people happy
People thinking its ok to call my baby fat
Fighting crowds
Having to put myself in situations I'm not comfortable in
Money stress

*sigh* Once again I will suck it up and try to keep my mouth shut during some times, and sit back and enjoy the other times.
Happy busy, crazy, cold, wonderful December.

My mom and step dad
Liam sitting by himself

Pfew... November.... where to begin....
First of all my parents arrived at the beginning of November for their visit. Yay :~D I hadn't seen them in over two years. Just a few days after they got here we had Acacia's 3rd birthday party. Fun, fun. Then we rested. Also known as...being lazy :)
After resting for a few days, we went to Asheville. I wanted to take them to our favorite place to eat and Ric wanted to go to the mall. That's right, the mall. For those that don't know my family, going to any store, let alone the mall is HUGE for my mom. We actually had fun. Then we headed over to Papa's and Beer for some supper yummy food.

My sister's boyfriend is allergic to animals (and I have several) so we went to their house a couple of times and hung out. In fact, they hosted Thanksgiving this year (otherwise Jeff would have been left out). It went really well...except, after we all ate I was getting the rest of the meat off the turkey and the very middle underneath part was raw :~o oops. All of us had already eaten...the part that was carved was cooked all the way... of well LOL.

We had such a great visit with my parents. I wasn't ready for them to leave (I know they stayed for a month, but I still wasn't ready). They only left yesterday but I miss them already :(
Hopefully it won't be years before we see them again.

Hope everyone had a great turkey day :~)

My mom and step dad came out to visit. Yay! I haven't seen my mom in over 2 years. We are loving having them here.

Acacia turned 3 on the 9th and her party at the park went great.

Well, really, we have just been visiting and enjoying our company. :D

Hope everyone is enjoying November.

Fall festival

Hannah, Jaylynn and Acacia working on their pumpkins

Marion (for the first time) had a Halloween/Fall Festival (free..yay). So I took all the kids... trick or treating Main street and pumpkin coloring contest (there were other activities but we had to get to gymnastics). We all had a good time, despite the rain. I hope the city does it again next year :)

On another note... Hannah can do one-handed cartwheels! She said the teacher asked if anyone could do one and so she tried and tada! one-handed cartwheel. Woot woot! I am so proud :~D

Getting ready

Liam's 1st pumk'n (LOL)
Hannah's "mad cat" pumpkin &
Acacia's "lite brite" pumpkin

Josh had to work this weekend :( so we only had one whole day together as a family. But...we made the best of it. Since Josh doesn't get home until so late we didn't get up and go to church.  Well let me back up a day. Saturday Josh and I were discussing the sleeping arrangements for when our house guests get here and I mentioned how nice it would be if the kids' rooms were done. Poof. We decided to swap their rooms. Its not all the way done...we still want to paint both rooms, I still need to combine the girls closets and get a dresser for Liam...but it will work for a few weeks.
Anywho...Sunday we were still kind of straightening up from our crazy hair idea Saturday and had several errands to run. So we ran around getting stuff done. We visited paw paw Reel, who is healing surprisingly fast. When we made it home we were all starving, so, while Josh and Hannah filled in the new hole the dogs are using to get under the fence, I made dinner. We had spaghetti and meatballs with cheesy garlic bread and dark chocolate brownies for desert. Mmmmm yum. After dinner we carved the pumpkins. Hannah was super excited that she got to actually carve (with help from daddy) her own this year. Acacia had a blast putting her "lite brites" in hers. Of course Liam didn't help much, but we still managed to get his done too ;~)

It was a great day :)

What's stonger than wind=?UTF-8?B?Pw==?=

Little Miss Acacia is now in a big girl booster seat. She is super excited about the whole situation, especially because she got moved from the middle of the back seat to the window.

*Acacia rolls window all the way down*

"Mommy" she says

"What" I say, looking behind me

"It's windy with the window down" she says with her hair going wild in the wind

"It sure is" I laugh

"I'm going to blow the wind back out" she says while blowing against the wind

"Ok, good luck" I say smiling

I love the way kids think.

New park

We have a new park in Marion. This excites me. Not only does this present us with somewhere new to play, but it helps spread out the crowds.
For such a big "little" town its crazy to me that there is only 2, now 3 parks (well, that's a lie, I believe there is another one, but its in a park of town that my hubby doesn't want us to go- the crime rate is really high there). The "big" park is great...big play area, tennis courts, basketball courts and splash pad...but is always so crowded. Then we have another park that we discovered, smaller but still fun. Well everyone else is discovering it too. I am super excited about another park.
We went and checked it out today. It is small, but I really liked it. It was nice and private (if that makes since). We ended up staying for 2 1/2 hours. Haha.

On another mom and step dad are planning on coming for a visit. Yay! I haven't seen my mom in over 2 years. I am so excited :~D
Forgive me if I go MIA for a little while.

Hope everyone is having a great day :~)

Paw paw

Paw paw Reel holding Liam

My husbands grandpa is a great guy. I have really gotten close with him over the last couple of years. I go to his house at least once a week to clean and do what ever he needs help doing. This started after he fell almost two years ago and got quiet hurt and wasn't able to do much for himself. Well...two days ago while on vacation, he fell again. This time (it sounds like...I haven't seen him yet) it is worse. He fell down on an escalator and couldn't get up. Every time the steps went by they "bit" his back. I know it sounds horrible and I'm sure it hurt like hell. He lost a lot of blood and had to get some in the ER. Thank God for good people. A woman went for help while a man tried to hold paw paw up so the steps wouldn't cut him anymore until they got it shut off. After a stressful day waiting by the phone, my mother in law talked to paw paw and he is doing okay. Banged up and bruised, but okay.
So please keep him in your prayers. I am afraid his recovery will be tough (he is in his 80's), but he is to stuborn to stay down for long :)

My life revolves around children. This is not unusual for a SAHM. My day get busy in the afternoon after my hubby goes to work. Hannah needs to be picked up, homework needs to be done, baby needs to be fed...
When one of the children doesn't feel good it throws a wrench in our day. My day was one of those days. Acacia has been sick all day and Liam was having a super fussy day.
Even after all the stress I had today and how much I was looking forward to the kids going to bed and having some peace... I feel so alone when they go to bed. They sure drive me crazy, but I love them so much.

Lucky me

Hannah loving/playing with Liam

I really am blessed. My children are wonderful. I could go on and on about all of my childrens wonderful qualities, but today I am going to brag on my little man. Liam is not only trying to say mama (my husband argues that he does say it), he is eating rice cereal like a big boy, but he started rolling over this past weekend. Woohoo! *sigh* I can't believe he is growing up so fast. He is so darn cute and has such a great personality.
*sigh, oh big sigh* I could get all mushy gushy talking about my kids...
Sorry, after not feeling well for a few days, many phone calls, hours waiting at the doctors, it turns out I have mastitis :(
Not too big of a deal. Take some meds and I will (and am starting) feel better soon. I think I am just a little emotional today because I haven't been able to hold my little man much without pain and even though he hasn't left me, I miss him.
Ok, ok...I'm done.

Birthday weekend

Acacia enjoying a cookie at the mall.

So I am officially 31. I can remember when I thought 30 was SO old ha ha. Its funny how that changes the older you get.

My sister had tickets to PINKS ALL OUT drag race at Bristol and had invited us to go with her...but we decided that it wouldn't be the best idea to take Liam (and I don't have enough milk stored up to leave him all day) because of the noise level. So, Josh and Hannah went with them. At first Hannah didn't like it but they ended up having a great time. I need some new pants, so Acacia, Liam and I drove to Hickory to see if I could find some clothes. Most stores were having a great sale on everything but womens pants...of course. I found some more Christmas presents and my friends sons birthday present, but no pants for me. Well thats not entirely true, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $40 or more for the pants I found.
I thought I would be nice and take Acacia over to the play area because she was being so good. Man o man! That was crazy! The kids were so loud and wild, Acacia wouldn't even play at first. When she finally got brave enough so venture onto the closest thing she looked petrified. She wouldn't go very far from me and I had to keep "saving" her from crazy kids. Bless her heart. She is so shy anyways and to not have her older sissy with her, I don't think she knew how to act.
After that craziness we got a pretzel and a cookie before heading to Target to grab some diapers (love the Target brand diapers), then home. By the time we got home, Josh and Hannah were getting home too. We were all hungry so we went to dinner at Fatz Cafe (I had a free birthday dinner to cash in). Yummy. By the time we got home we were all so tired we all stumbled on to bed.

Sunday my birthday :~)
We went to church and enjoyed a great service. After church we normally go by Joshs pawpaws house to visit, so we stopped by there for a bit. My mother-in-law wanted to take us to lunch for my birthday (who am I to argue heehee) so we went to Mi Pueblitos for a yummy lunch. After stuffing ourselves we met my sister at our house. She brought me a supper good Cappuccino Torte cake, ice cream and a pretty balloon. The cake was AWESOME!
Well, since I couldn't find any pants at the mall we all ran to Morganton to Kmart. Now here is where I got spoiled :) Josh and the girls had already got me a steam mop for my birthday...but I left Kmart with 2 pairs of jeans and 5 new tops. :~D Not to mention we got Hannah a new dress and 2 pairs of boots; Josh got a couple of outfits and found some more Christmas presents. I know, I know...we went crazy. But it was great! Of course now we have to hide the credit card LOL
Yey! Now I actually have clothes that aren't ripped or stained. Woohoo! Ha ha.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend too.

Friday Friends

Liam chilling waiting for us to eat.

Josh had to work Saturday (of course) so our weekend was limited to one day. He didn't get home until after midnight so we skipped church so he could sleep in a little, but ended up having a great day. We have been wanting to try this resturant in Morganton, Friday Friends, so we went there for lunch. It was really good :)
The Greenway (a walkway along the Catawba river) is right there.. actually the resturant over looked the river, very pretty... so we decided to walk along it for a bit. It is so beautiful. I wish I had brought my phone or camera or something :( but we will go back. We were enjoying the walk so much that by the time we turned around and went back to the car we had walked almost 3 miles.
We stopped by Kmart on the way home and Josh bought me the steam mop I have been wanting for my birthday. Woohoo :)
When we got home my back was really hurting (that's a whole different blog entry) so I poured myself a cold glass of wine and headed to a hot bubble bath. By the time I got out my hubby had made dinner and the kids were in the bath. Nice :)
This morning I was feeling a little froggy so I vacuumed my ceiling. It needed it so bad and looks so, so much better. The, because we have that stupid "popcorn" ceiling, I vacuumed the floor too. I also managed to sweep and try out my new steam mop. Now...if I could only slay the laundry monster....

Sent via MOTOBLUR™ on Verizon Wireless

I try to be fun with the kids. Sometimes I feel like I am always saying "No...quiet down....stop running...pick up...stop fighting!" So when we don't have a hundred things to do I try to do a fun activity. Today I decided to surprise the kids by doing something I save for long drives (and haven't done in years). I let the AC blow bubbles while we were waiting at the bus stop. They went crazy! It was so funny. Right before Hannah got in the car we filled it with as many bubbles as we could. Hannah opened the door with this crazy look on her face...she said something about it looking like lots of bugs in the car. When she turned to close the door I blew a bunch more...she though that was the coolest thing ever. Score one for mommy ;~)
I guess I'm on a roll today. Acacia told me I was such a nice mommy (I handed her toliet paper haha LOL). Woo hoo!

Acacia and Hannah playing outside with cousin Jaylynn.

Liam is teething. Well at least I am assuming he is teething. For a few days he has been drooling, bitting, and been a little fussy butt. Yesterday was the worst...I couldn't hardly comfort him. I decided to take him to the doctor this morning. Double ear infection :(
While we were waiting Acacia wanted to "read" to us. At the end of each book, instead of saying "the end", she said "amen". LOL it was so cute. I tried to explain to her that you say the end, but she still said amen. Who am I to argue :~)

Don't worry

The other day I told the girls to pick up toys. Acacia has a hard time staying on task sometimes, so I usually tell her what to pick up. I told her to pick up her blocks. She sat down and started picking up. After a few minutes she turns to me and says "Don't worry about me mommy. Don't worry." I said ok and she finished picking up. Haha I just thought it was so...from out of no where, it was funny.
Last night I decided to take a nice hot bubble bath. Well of course I don't get to be alone ;~) Here comes Acacia. "Ow mommy, you have bubbles! Can I touch the bubbles?" After getting permission to play in the bubbles she decided that since I didn't have as much bubbles by my head she needed to move the bubbles from my feet area to my head area. "Don't worry mommy. I'll fix it for you." LOL I just love her. She is so silly.

happy birthday

Happy Birthday Dad. We miss you so much. I can't believe its been almost 5 years since you went to heaven.
Love you!

Labor day weekend

I was afraid our Labor day weekend would be spent home with sick kids. Acacia and Liam went to the doctor Thursday and they both had strep throat. Thankfully they felt better by the weekend.
Saturday we met up with our friends the Tunks and went to the Apple Festival in Hendersonville. It was a beautiful day. Unfortunatly there were so many people there we could hardly walk around. After a couple hours we were all done with the crowds so we decided to go have an early dinner. We wanted to take the Tunks to Scoggins. Yummy. The food is so super good. After dinner went came back to our house and enjoyed the wonderful weather by sitting outside most of the evening.
Sunday the weather was so nice again that I filled up the kids pool and they played in it while I washed the car. The Tuppers called and invited us over for dinner, so I got Liam to nap and made a chocolate cake to take with us. We had a really nice evening visiting.
Monday we were super lazy all day :~) I didn't feel 100% so Josh took the kids to his moms to visit for a little bit while I rested. After a nap, a shower and a yummy omelet I felt much better.
Today we have been trying to get the house clean. My older sister is coming to NC tonight and I wanted the house clean.

Lovely three day weekend. Hope everyone had a good one too.

Slow down

7 year old. 4 year old. 2 year old. 2 month old. School. Softball. Wife. House keeper. Mother. Sister. Daughter. Friend.
Some times I feel stretched thin. I want to be the best wife, friend, sister, daughter and mother I can. But...
I just want to be able to work out once a day. Maybe take a shower everyday. I was outside rocking the baby while trying to teach Hannah to throw a softball, then came in and gave them all a bath in hopes that Liam would let me do the Wii fit. 30 minutes is all I ask for. Nope. Prince Boo Hoo rules again tonight. (She types while holding the sleeping prince)
*sigh*  *big sigh*
Then I look down at my little sleeping baby. How selfish am I? So what if I am not at the weight I want to be at. These are times I will never get back. Times I will look back on and miss. Over the last week I have had a friend lose a baby while another friend gave birth. I have been on both sides of that coin and I am truely blessed. It can be easy to lose sight of that, but I really am.
So to anyone that might read this... enjoy your world. I know I will.

Weekend fun

We had a great weekend. Saturday we went to our friends house. We played Band Hero and went to eat at a mexican resturant in Spruce Pine. I pulled a total blond moment at the resturant...I apparently didn't pay attention to what I ordered and ordered something I wouldn't eat LOL. Oh well. Josh liked it :) No big deal. Acacia didn't want her rice so I ate that instead. We really had a good time.
Sunday we were just going to be lazy all day, but my sister called and told us to come over for dinner. So we headed over there and had fajitas and the girls played in the pool. Good times.
I am super excited for next weekend...its the Apple Festival. I know, I'm a dork :~)

Adventures out and about

Even though my hubby had to work 12 hours Friday and Saturday, Sunday we took the kids to the Nature Center in Asheville. It was so cute! Like a little zoo. It wasn't expensive and the girls loved it. There were snakes, birds, bears, foxes...we even got to watch them feed the deer. The butterfly exhibit was still going on. I held a butterfly (everyone else was chicken LOL). I think we will have to come back next summer too.
After we were done we headed to Papa's & Beer, a mexican resturant we love. It was always.
It was a great day with the family. :~)

Saturday I took the kids to Amy and Daniels house to hang out. We had fun. It was nice to talk to adults for a change ;~)

Oh ya, on a side note...I broke down and bought a Wii fit. I love it. Hopefully it will help me lose the last few pregnancy pounds (and more).

Hope everyone had a great weekend too.
