Licence to...have kids?

I had to take Hannah back to the pediatrician for a lung check after a day of breathing treatments. She is doing better, but has to do the breathing treatments for a few more days. Anyways...when I was getting the kids in the car to leave I saw this...
A woman, a 5/6 year old boy and a newborn get into the nice big truck next to us. The little boy gets in the front seat and the mom hands him the baby. I didn't think much about it, I figured she was getting stuff situated. Nope. Not only did the little boy not get in the back seat or at least a car seat (in NC its 8 yrs old or 80lbs), she drove off with the little boy still holding the baby, also not in a car seat. WTF! Why are people so stupid? My friend says that people should have to have a licence to have kids. I have to agree. I've seen people do a lot of stupid stuff with their kids, but this takes the cake. I was so in shock I went into the pediatricians office and told them but didn't even think to call child services or anything. Wow..I really can't even think of anything else to say...stupid people....

Talent or not

So our "new" used car has some cosmetic issues. Other than needing the carpet cleaned and some seat covers (which are really expensive for the kind of seats it has), there are some upholstery issues. So...I decided to try my hand at reupholstering to fix these issues. I was a little nervous because I haven't done any big craft/sewing or any projects in so long I thought that maybe I might have lost my touch. The glue is dry now so I just have to put it back in the car. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures. I am very pleased (I say that now, but they aren't in the car yet) with how it turned out. Yay :-)

New car...kinda

So we have been on a quest for a used car. So much not fun. Don't get me wrong, I love to buy a car just as much as the next person...but when you only have a limited amount of money its just no fun. Anyways.... my hubby's grandpa heard that we were looking for a car and told us that it was ridiculous to buy one when he had one he never used. So, after talking and trying, and trying to persuade him to let us buy it from him...he gave us his old car. Now granted it is a '94, and needs a little TLC, you just can't beat the price :-)

So, yay! We finally have two cars. I am excited and relieved. Having one car sucks.

La la la...hope everyone has a great weekend, I know mine has started out great :-)

Withdrawals

I love to read. I just finished The Host by Stephenie Meyer. Now I'm having withdrawals. I know its crazy, but I guess I throw myself into books so much that I really miss the characters when I'm done. I finished this last book two days ago and I still miss it. LOL Crazy I know. I guess I need to start a new book. Maybe I'll go to the library tomorrow.
By the way...good book :-)

Valentines weekend

Our weekend didn't start out the best, but ended up being great. We went used car shopping Friday and saw a few potential buys. Friday night it started to snow so we had plans to go sledding Saturday morning, but by the time we got out and about it had started to melt. So, we picked up my sister-in-law and her kids and went shopping. After shopping we headed back to our house to play the Wii. Sunday morning we woke up to frozen water, but managed to get it working later. We didn't get to church (because of the water issues), but got great news...one of Josh's family members has a car they never use and want to give it to us. Uh, ok. Hee hee. So on a whim my sister-in-law told us she would watch the girls if we wanted to go out...so... Josh and I went to Asheville and watched Wolfman (good) and ran to the store. We went wild and crazy :-) and I love it LOL. I can't wait to have everyone over to show all my new stuff. Hmmm, now to clean house so its presentable.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Losing things...

My mind is top of the list of things I am losing these days. Everyone is sick around here. My niece Jaylynn had the stomach bug all weekend and Monday also. My sisters boyfriend was kind enough to watch her for me so we didn't have to expose my whole family to it. Of course my sister ended up with it...so bad in fact that she was taken to the ER last night. Jaylynn stayed with me and probably will stay again considering that my sister is still down and now her boyfriend has it too. Happy happy joy joy.

My little terrible two child has been driving me crazy and I finally decided that maybe she just doesn't feel good. She has had a runny nose for a while so I took her to the doctor today. She has another sinus infection. I also went ahead and had the doctor look at Hannah because her sleeping situation has not improved. The doctor is pretty positive that she has sleep apnea and is sending us to a specialist and we will probably have to have her tonsils removed. Yay.

We are having a horrific wind storm right now. Its so bad they actually closed school early. All of the yard toys, including the play house and our bench are MIA. The play house is stuck on the swing set right now...but who knows what will things will look like by morning.

On a happier note...my hubby got to feel the baby move the other morning for the first time :-)

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Happy Birthday Hannah

Today is my beautiful baby girl's 7th birthday. Seven years ago I held my first child in my arms for the first time. I always knew that I wanted to be a mom but I had no idea how much love I would feel for that little red, chubby, screaming baby. :-) Even when she screamed for the next 3 months that love grew stronger. Now she is in 1st grade and thinks she knows everything...well almost everything. She told my niece that 1st graders know almost everything LOL
I love her, she is so silly. She is so grown up already. Oh, it hurts my heart to think of her growing up...yet I love every stage of her life. *sigh* Ok...enough mushy stuff (I am prego/emotional...we don't need tears)
I let her pick where she wanted to eat. She chose Fatz Cafe (of course, her favorite) and we rented Night at the Museum 2 and had a little picnic in the living room. We were going to go out to eat and go to the movies, but it started to snow and they are calling for freezing rain and around 7 inches of snow (again). So, we decided on take out and renting a movie. It was a lovely evening. Now to see if we will have a party or if we will get more snow on top of the snow we already have :-)

19 weeks

So I finally had my ultrasound today, even with the 7 inches of snow we got over the weekend. Now I am to lazy to hook my scanner up to my computer to show pictures...maybe I will do it tomorrow :-)
Well, this baby wouldn't move and it was laying face down toward my back so we couldn't see anything. *sigh* I have another ultrasound in 5 weeks so they can try again...they weren't able to get clean pictures of everything they needed. I was also instructed to have some coffee and a doughnut before I came in so the baby would move LOL. We may end up being surprised like we did with Hannah. I guess my babies are just shy :-) this one even kept covering its face with its hands. Ha ha
