Hannah, Jaylynn and Acacia working on their pumpkins
Marion (for the first time) had a Halloween/Fall Festival (free..yay). So I took all the kids... trick or treating Main street and pumpkin coloring contest (there were other activities but we had to get to gymnastics). We all had a good time, despite the rain. I hope the city does it again next year :)
On another note... Hannah can do one-handed cartwheels! She said the teacher asked if anyone could do one and so she tried and tada! one-handed cartwheel. Woot woot! I am so proud :~D Sent via MOTOBLUR™ on Verizon Wireless
Josh had to work this weekend :( so we only had one whole day together as a family. But...we made the best of it. Since Josh doesn't get home until so late we didn't get up and go to church. Well let me back up a day. Saturday Josh and I were discussing the sleeping arrangements for when our house guests get here and I mentioned how nice it would be if the kids' rooms were done. Poof. We decided to swap their rooms. Its not all the way done...we still want to paint both rooms, I still need to combine the girls closets and get a dresser for Liam...but it will work for a few weeks. Anywho...Sunday we were still kind of straightening up from our crazy hair idea Saturday and had several errands to run. So we ran around getting stuff done. We visited paw paw Reel, who is healing surprisingly fast. When we made it home we were all starving, so, while Josh and Hannah filled in the new hole the dogs are using to get under the fence, I made dinner. We had spaghetti and meatballs with cheesy garlic bread and dark chocolate brownies for desert. Mmmmm yum. After dinner we carved the pumpkins. Hannah was super excited that she got to actually carve (with help from daddy) her own this year. Acacia had a blast putting her "lite brites" in hers. Of course Liam didn't help much, but we still managed to get his done too ;~)
It was a great day :) Sent via MOTOBLUR™ on Verizon Wireless
We have a new park in Marion. This excites me. Not only does this present us with somewhere new to play, but it helps spread out the crowds. For such a big "little" town its crazy to me that there is only 2, now 3 parks (well, that's a lie, I believe there is another one, but its in a park of town that my hubby doesn't want us to go- the crime rate is really high there). The "big" park is great...big play area, tennis courts, basketball courts and splash pad...but is always so crowded. Then we have another park that we discovered, smaller but still fun. Well everyone else is discovering it too. I am super excited about another park. We went and checked it out today. It is small, but I really liked it. It was nice and private (if that makes since). We ended up staying for 2 1/2 hours. Haha.
On another note...my mom and step dad are planning on coming for a visit. Yay! I haven't seen my mom in over 2 years. I am so excited :~D Forgive me if I go MIA for a little while.
Hope everyone is having a great day :~) Sent via MOTOBLUR™ on Verizon Wireless
My husbands grandpa is a great guy. I have really gotten close with him over the last couple of years. I go to his house at least once a week to clean and do what ever he needs help doing. This started after he fell almost two years ago and got quiet hurt and wasn't able to do much for himself. Well...two days ago while on vacation, he fell again. This time (it sounds like...I haven't seen him yet) it is worse. He fell down on an escalator and couldn't get up. Every time the steps went by they "bit" his back. I know it sounds horrible and I'm sure it hurt like hell. He lost a lot of blood and had to get some in the ER. Thank God for good people. A woman went for help while a man tried to hold paw paw up so the steps wouldn't cut him anymore until they got it shut off. After a stressful day waiting by the phone, my mother in law talked to paw paw and he is doing okay. Banged up and bruised, but okay. So please keep him in your prayers. I am afraid his recovery will be tough (he is in his 80's), but he is to stuborn to stay down for long :) Sent via MOTOBLUR™ on Verizon Wireless
My life revolves around children. This is not unusual for a SAHM. My day get busy in the afternoon after my hubby goes to work. Hannah needs to be picked up, homework needs to be done, baby needs to be fed... When one of the children doesn't feel good it throws a wrench in our day. My day was one of those days. Acacia has been sick all day and Liam was having a super fussy day. Even after all the stress I had today and how much I was looking forward to the kids going to bed and having some peace... I feel so alone when they go to bed. They sure drive me crazy, but I love them so much.
Friday we had parent teacher conference. I was a little nervous because Hannah and I have struggled a little over homework. Its all good though. Hannah is doing great. In fact, Hannah made the A honor roll. Yay Hannah! I am so proud of her :~) Sent via MOTOBLUR™ on Verizon Wireless
I really am blessed. My children are wonderful. I could go on and on about all of my childrens wonderful qualities, but today I am going to brag on my little man. Liam is not only trying to say mama (my husband argues that he does say it), he is eating rice cereal like a big boy, but he started rolling over this past weekend. Woohoo! *sigh* I can't believe he is growing up so fast. He is so darn cute and has such a great personality. *sigh, oh big sigh* I could get all mushy gushy talking about my kids... Sorry, after not feeling well for a few days, many phone calls, hours waiting at the doctors, it turns out I have mastitis :( Not too big of a deal. Take some meds and I will (and am starting) feel better soon. I think I am just a little emotional today because I haven't been able to hold my little man much without pain and even though he hasn't left me, I miss him. Ok, ok...I'm done. So I am officially 31. I can remember when I thought 30 was SO old ha ha. Its funny how that changes the older you get.
Saturday My sister had tickets to PINKS ALL OUT drag race at Bristol and had invited us to go with her...but we decided that it wouldn't be the best idea to take Liam (and I don't have enough milk stored up to leave him all day) because of the noise level. So, Josh and Hannah went with them. At first Hannah didn't like it but they ended up having a great time. I need some new pants, so Acacia, Liam and I drove to Hickory to see if I could find some clothes. Most stores were having a great sale on everything but womens pants...of course. I found some more Christmas presents and my friends sons birthday present, but no pants for me. Well thats not entirely true, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $40 or more for the pants I found. I thought I would be nice and take Acacia over to the play area because she was being so good. Man o man! That was crazy! The kids were so loud and wild, Acacia wouldn't even play at first. When she finally got brave enough so venture onto the closest thing she looked petrified. She wouldn't go very far from me and I had to keep "saving" her from crazy kids. Bless her heart. She is so shy anyways and to not have her older sissy with her, I don't think she knew how to act. After that craziness we got a pretzel and a cookie before heading to Target to grab some diapers (love the Target brand diapers), then home. By the time we got home, Josh and Hannah were getting home too. We were all hungry so we went to dinner at Fatz Cafe (I had a free birthday dinner to cash in). Yummy. By the time we got home we were all so tired we all stumbled on to bed.
Sunday my birthday :~) We went to church and enjoyed a great service. After church we normally go by Joshs pawpaws house to visit, so we stopped by there for a bit. My mother-in-law wanted to take us to lunch for my birthday (who am I to argue heehee) so we went to Mi Pueblitos for a yummy lunch. After stuffing ourselves we met my sister at our house. She brought me a supper good Cappuccino Torte cake, ice cream and a pretty balloon. The cake was AWESOME! Well, since I couldn't find any pants at the mall we all ran to Morganton to Kmart. Now here is where I got spoiled :) Josh and the girls had already got me a steam mop for my birthday...but I left Kmart with 2 pairs of jeans and 5 new tops. :~D Not to mention we got Hannah a new dress and 2 pairs of boots; Josh got a couple of outfits and found some more Christmas presents. I know, I know...we went crazy. But it was great! Of course now we have to hide the credit card LOL Yey! Now I actually have clothes that aren't ripped or stained. Woohoo! Ha ha.
Hope everyone else had a great weekend too. Sent via MOTOBLUR™ on Verizon Wireless
