Glass Brain

Today I was fussing at my niece (whom I babysit every day). She was trying to buckle her seat belt and kept jamming her hand. It was making her mad, but she wouldn't stop and think. So I told her to stop and use her brain. Well, we got things situated and we were talking about how to communicate when we are frusterated and Acacia pops up with "mommy, I have a brain"
So I say "I know. We all have brains, we just need to use them"
Acacia "I can't use it, it will break"
Hannah "haha Acacia, your brain can't break"
Acacia "ya huh. Its made of glass"
Hannah "Your brain isn't made of glass"
Acacia "Yes it is...a little glass"

Anyways, the conversation continued the rest of the way home.
I love the way Acacia thinks. She cracks me up :~)

Last week we spent 4 days in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. with some friends of ours. It was lovely. We love to vacation there. We rented a 2 bedroom cabin. It also had a hot tub and pool table. It was the nicest cabin we've stayed in so far.
Thursday we checked Hannah out of school at lunch and hit the road. We made a quick stop at our favorite restaraunt in Asheville, Papa's & Beer, for some super yummy mexican food and then got back on the road. It only takes about 2 hours to get to Pigeon Forge so we got there just in time to check in. We checked out the cabin, hung out on the porch swing, watched a fox explore the back yard, and watched a beautiful sunset while waiting for our friends to call. Once they were in town we met them at IHOP for dinner. Back at the cabin we played some pool and hit the hay.
Friday we wondered the outlet malls looking for good deals. Josh found several and I bought some new shoes and Hannah got a couple cute shirts. Then we got some lunch and headed back to the cabin. The kids had played in the hot tub that morning, so we just played pool for a while and then some cards.
Saturday, after lazing around, we went to town and went to the Ripley's Belive It or Not museum. The kids had a blast (so did the adults). On the way back to the car we stopped and got some fudge and carmel apples. Then we played mini golf. After all that we were starving so we tried a restaruant called Bennet's BBQ. It was really good and you got a crazy amount of food.
Back at the cabin it was time for the grown ups to have a turn in the hot tub :~)  We ended up soaking and talking until almost 4am! Mercy, that is crazy concidering I have a baby that will be up soon LOL.
Sunday we had to check out by 11am so we got our stuff together and checked out. We hit up a couple more stores and then decided to try a new restaraunt. We picked Mellow Mushroom. It surved pizza  and subs...that kind of thing. It was so good!
After lunch/early dinner we went to the Bass Pro Shop. Then it was homeward bound, after a stop for ice cream of course ;~)

We had such a good time. We are thinking next time...maybe just adults... :~o

Child labor

I asked the kids to help me with the laundry. With a family of 5, we have a LOT of socks to match. So, I recruited some help. Liam decided he wanted to help too. It was so blasted cute I just had to share some of the pictures.
