Easter weekend

Easter weekend....busy, but fun :~)

Josh took a vacation day making it a 4 day weekend for us. Yay :~)  After doing some running around we hung out with his sister who was in town. The girls ended up staying the night at my mother in laws with everyone.
Josh and I came home and made a yummy home cooked meal, put the baby to bed, had a glass of wine and....(get your mind out of the gutter!) watched Criminal Minds. It was lovely :~)

I got right up and hard boiled some eggs to dye and started cooking food for a bbq later. Josh picked up the girls from his moms. Oh! And one of the best parts...they finished our patio! Woohoo!!
Anyways LOL. We dyed eggs with the girls, then headed to the church for the Easter Egg hunt. The kids had fun. My sister and Jaylynn, Josh's sister Tina and her family, and Josh's sister Crystal and her family all came too.
After the egg hunt we met everyone at Josh's parents house for a bbq. Good food, more egg dying, volleyball and relaxing. It was nice.

We got up and gave the kids their baskets. Acacia was so super excited...it was funny. She just kept saying "thank you daddy". Too cute. After letting the kids eat a piece of candy (yup, only 1 piece. Then a healthy breakfast...I'm a mean mommy) we got ready and headed to church. It was a nice service.
After church my mother in law took us all out to lunch (along with some of Josh's family).
Liam fell asleep on the way home so we let him take a nap before heading to my sisters house. Once we got there we had a big egg hunt for the kids. Much fun was had by all, but I think Acacia had the most fun. It was so exciting to see her get so excited :~)
When the hunting was done we all (my sister family and mine) headed up to Curtis Creek to play. It was so nice and peaceful. I love it up there. It made me ready to start camping.

*I took all sorts of pictures but only one (the eggs) on my phone. Sorry :~)

We worked our butts off all day. I finished getting the garden ready. Josh mowed the yard. We cleaned up the patio (heehee) and arranged it. Worked in flower beds. Moved stuff around in the yard. Burned the brush pile. Busy, busy, busy. It felt wonderful to get so much done.

Well, that was long ha ha.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

The kids and I were playing in the front yard this afternoon. It was a beautiful day...a little windy, but almost 80 deg.
Now, I don't let the kids play out front without someone watching them. Its my own weird thing, but I like that the backyard is fenced... I know, I know... a fence isn't going to keep Kbad guys" out, but it makes me feel better. Beside then I know exactly where they are. Anyways... I had to blow my nose, so I asked Hannah to watch her brother and I stepped inside. I could hear everything they were saying, and could look out the window and see them if I wanted, but I still hurried.
I heard a car going by and wondered if it was my friend. (He is letting me borrow his tiller) Then a thought came over me....  I can now see how a child could get kidnapped. If that bad person pulled up to the kids and they knew him.... I won't even finish. You get the picture. Its kind of a scary though isn't it.

On a lighter note, I'm pretty sure if anyone took my kids they would pay me to take them back ;~)

And it begins...

Planting season is upon us. I started digging up my garden last week. I haven't ever dug it by hand before, and even though it was back-breaking work, it was well worth it. I just need to till it up to break it up some more, then it will be ready to plant. I started my seeds in my "mini green houses" yesterday. They should be ready in a week or two. I am excited. There is nothing like fresh produce from your own garden.
Hannah planted sunflower seeds again this year. She loves growing stuff, so this year we are going to let her use her topsy-turvy thing to grow strawberries. I think she will enjoy it.

We had the patio guys come out yesterday to discuss getting our patio. I am so excited! I think it is going to look great.

Hope everyone had a great and productive weekend. I know we did :~)

I'm running away with the circus

We took the kids to the circus over the weekend.

It. Was. Awesome!

I know, I know... but it really was. I was just as into it (if not more) than the kids were. We had a big group of us go together. About 16 of us I believe. We had so much fun. My niece has traded being a dentist when she grows up, to being in the circus LOL. I wish I was able to get more pictures on my phone to share, but the lighting didn't work well for that. Most of the pictures on my camera are blury, but we know what they are ;)
We saw the Ringling Bros. Zing Zang Zoom show and I can't wait for one of their other tours to come this way. I am addicted :)  Between that and reading Water for Elephants, I'm ready to travel with them LOL.
Of course, after the show several of us went over to Pappa's 'n Beer for dinner. Super yummy, as aways.

It was a great end to an already wonderful weekend.
Now to move on to more fun. Tomorrow they come to measure for our patio :~D
Pfew...almost too much excitement to handle...almost ;)
