Busy, busy

Liam loving on Hannah :~)

Our lives are so busy right now. I haven't had time to blog like I would like to, so there is much to catch up on.

Hannah went back to school. My big 3rd grader. We met her teacher, Mrs. Hughes. She seems nice. Unfortunatly, Hannah is in the same class as a child that has given her problems before. This child used to get Hannah (and the class sometimes) in trouble. Now, I'm not saying that Hannah is perfect, but between what Hannah would tell me and what the teacher would tell me, it was clear that 90% of the problem was the other child. When I noticed that this child is in Hannahs class this year I talked to her teacher about it and the teacher said knowingly "Oh yea, I had her brother last year. I'm sure she will be with me most of the year." Ha ha. It must run in the family.

As you may or may not know, I have gone back to school to get my RN. Right now I am taking four classes; Success and study skills, Biology, Expository writing, and Algebra. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Of course we are only a couple weeks in ha ha. I have my first biology test today, but I feel pretty prepared for it.
I use my time between classes and even some of the breaks to do homework. Of course I have to do some at home and I use Liams nap time to finish what I can. Luckly, my success and study skills teacher doesn't like to give homework :~)

On top of school I have been back at weight watchers for a while now and have kicked it up a notch by working out. I try to do that while Liam is napping too. Right now my goal is to get on the Wii fit 5 days a week. I don't have a set time or routine right now. I just want to get in the habit of making time to work out. Most days I am able to get 10-15 minutes in. Last week was a bust. Between school, appointments and homework, I think I only worked out 2 or 3 times. Its okay though, we are still trying to get in a groove and Acacia is supposed to start school soon, plus gymnastics starts soon too. It will probably take a couple of weeks to really get in a good routine.

We have some exciting events coming up though. We have a big bbq Labor day weekend with our friends. It should be lots of fun.
Also, our friend has been going through the training to be a state trooper and is graduating soon. We took some time off to attend his graduation and then visit my sister in law (who lives not far from where we will be) and her family. We are looking forward to seeing her new house.
Our big event that we have been looking forward to for months now (the kids have even made a paper chain to count the days down), is my grandma coming to visit. We have not seen my grandma in 3 1/2 years. Acacia was only 6 months old and Liam wasn't even thought of yet.
I have also heard a whisper of possibly my older sister coming to visit soon.
Living so far away from my family is hard, but it sure makes it special when we do get to see them.

In other news, my sister in law, Tina, and my cousin Desiree are pregnant. This is Desiree's first child. We are excited for her. They just found out that it is a girl :~)
Tina has a daughter and a step son, so this will be child 3. They have an ultrasound tomorrow. Hopefully the baby will let us see what gender it will be.

Lots going on in Hardin World, but right now the baby is taking a nap so I better get on the Wii and start this week off good.
Have a great week everyone.

Back to school

My wonderful hubby bought me a personalized lunch bag to take my dinner in every school night.
Love you Josh!

New phone

I haven't blogged like I would like lately. I am going back to school and haven't got into a good routine yet. Plus I had to get a new phone and just haven't had time to get it set up and/or figured out all the way yet.
Hannah starts school this week (Acacia doesn't start McSmiles until after Labor day), so this week is going to be busy too.
Hopefully we will get in a good zone next week :-D.

Until then, I leave you with a picture of a sign my hubby got me this weekend (he might be trying to tell me something LOL).
Have a great day!

My children

I am so proud of my children.

4 months ago you couldn't get Acacia to get in the water past her ankles. Now she is swimming all around with her life jacket. In fact, while we were at the river today, she was practicing her dog paddle and doing her tricks...which was sticking her feet above the water. LOL  She is getting to be such a big girl.

Hannah is swimming without a life jacket. I am still a bit nervous, but today she proved to me that I don't need to worry (as much). She had been swimming all day and was looking tired out in the water. I was getting ready to swim out to her to see if she needed me to help her to shore, when she flipped over, floated on her back for a minute or two, and went back to swimming. That reassured me. (I will still worry...but isn't that my job)

She is also riding a bike without training wheels. This is a big deal. We don't have anywhere easy to learn how to ride a bike, so it has taken her a while to learn, but she has just about got it. Now to get her a bike that is actually the right size (man they grow fast!)

My little man is such a trooper. He had his stiches out and his hand is healing very nicely.
He is standing on his own. He has been able to pull up, walk along things, and maybe even let go for a few seconds, for a while. But now he stands from the ground...and he thinks it hilarious. Its so funny. He will stand and start laughing so hard he falls back on his but, which he thinks is even funnier.
I love him...he is so goofy.

I am so blessed. I love my family so much!

1st ER visit

After several hours, he was ready to go
While waiting for the numbing meds to work, he fell asleep
3 stiches :(
It doesn't interfear with playing though

Liam had his first trip to the ER yesterday. He was playing with Acacia's tea set...crawling with the teapot and the teapot broke and cut his hand. It was bleeding so bad and he was so upset that I couldn't see how bad it was, so we took him to the ER. I taped some gauze over his cut before we left the house.
We arrived at the ER a little after 5pm. Thankfully Josh's parents were able to come get the girls. Hannah was really upset and they were both hungry (we were getting ready to get something to eat when it happened). About an half an hour or so later we got called back. They took our info, unwrapped the gauze...which made it start bleeding again, wrapped it back up, told us it would probably be an hour or so and sent us out to wait. Long (hungry, cranky, tired, bored) story short, 5 hours later we finally saw a doctor.
I have to admit that it was almost to much for me...seeing my baby in pain while they clean and stitch up his hand. I don't believe the numbing cream worked as well as it was supposed to. :( I got feeling a little sick to my stomach. I had to sit down after the doctor left the room.
He was such a trooper though and today it hasn't fazed him at all. I was afraid it would hurt him when I had to clean and re-dress it, but he didn't even pay me any attention.
I hope it heals fast and clean.

We had another relaxing camping trip at Carolina Hemlocks. I love it there. It was so packed we ended up having to camp in the upper camp-ground. Its not right on the river, but was just as nice and a bit more private. The river was just a short walk away, so we still got to swim whenever we wanted.
The weather was beautiful. Our campsite was shaded by trees, keeping it a nice temperature. Down at the river it was sunny and hot, which you want, because the river water is cold, cold. It was even warm enough at night you didn't have to bundle up.
My sister and niece came up and swam with us one day. We had a great time.
It rained the second night, but our tent is awesome and didn't leak at all. Luckly the rain stopped before we packed up.
It really was a nice, relaxing camping trip.
